Desny was active 1927-33 on avenue des Champs-Elysees in Paris. The principals of the firm were the designers Desnet and Rene Mauny, and a financial backer named Tricot. Staff designer was Louis Poulain. The firm was known for its chrome-plated metal and innovative modern lighting; and also produced silverware and other accessories. Its work was characterized by geometrical forms and plain surfaces and was influenced by Cubism. The firms prestigious design commissions included the apartments of George-Henri Riviere and Pierre David-Weill, and Mlle. Thurnauer. When Desnet died in 1933, the business closed.
